The Auxiliary To The
Penticton Hospital Have Fun While Helping Others! |
||
Who We Are Since 1947 members of the Hospital Auxiliary have been volunteering their time to help others. Our mandate is to add to the comfort and welfare of hospital patients. We do this in many different ways. |
Fundraising Through the following fundraising activities we are able to achieve our mandate. Partnership in the Care Closet (Thrift Shop), Line of Loons & Toons, Cookie Walk and Raffles. |
Patient Comforts We also supply the following: Items needed for the Pediatrics ward, baby care packages for mothers-in-need, knit baby hats for every child born at PRH, baby bassinettes with clothes and mementos for stillborn babies, sweat suits for assault victims in ER, Christmas mugs for those patients remaining in the hosptial over Christmas, plants for ECU, and playing cards for the Psychiatric Ward. |
Volunteer Activities Our members also volunteer at the Hospital Gift Shop, take around the gift shop cart twice a week, volunteer in other areas at the hospital such as on the information desk, clinics on the hospital and also at the Care Closet. |
Candy Striper Program The Candy Striper program is supported by the auxiliary. There are approximately 50 young women and men in the program. At present we have Candy Stripers not only at the hospital but also at Trinity Centre Care Cociety, Haven Hill and Village By The Station. |
Equipment Purchases With monies raised we purchase equipment for the hospital. Over the last 6 years we have donated $387,488.00 to the hospital. |
Volunteering is a rewarding experience because you can make a difference in people's lives. It is also a way to meet people who like to have fun while serving others. If you are interested in joining the Auxiliary come to one of our meetings, or you can call 250-492-0571 and leave your name and number. We need you! Return to Meals On Wheels Penticton |
